It started with Buck 'n Bob . . . .
When Bob Lesniewski met with sports writer Ron Buckli in his office at the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram decades ago. It led to the beginning of a cherised community event in Eau Claire, WI.
Though the responsibilities for the event have changed hands over the years, the spirit of the Buckshot Run has not changed since the first race in 1982!
L.E. Phillips Career Development Center partnered with Eau Claire Adults 3-06 in 2025 to make sure the Buckshot Run continues. We work to preserve Buck 'n Bob's vision while running a quality event the whole family can enjoy!
Be a Buckshot Booster!
Sometimes people who want to participate in the Buckshot Run cannot afford the cost of registration for a variety of reasons.
When you support runners with a Buckshot Booster Sponsorship, you determine your donation and how many runners can break through financial roadblocks to participate in the event!
The cost is $50 per runner. Runners who participate as beneficiaries of the Buckshot Booster sponsorship receive the same shirts, bibs, and giveaways as any other runner at the event. You can choose to direct your sponsorship to particular participants, or we can match the funding to an individual who would love the chance to take part!
All proceeds stay local
By supporting the Buckshot Run, you are investing in your community. Buckshot Run proceeds support Eau Claire Adults 3-06 so they can participate in Special Olympics events. It also helps to support programming at L.E. Phillips Career Development Center
